Cyber thefts are on a rise and there are many incidents make us think whether our personal information is safe or not. One such incident with EPFO that happened in the near future was shared by the Ministry of Labour on their Twitter account.
A man named Deepak Sharma added his personal number under the official address of EPFO main office, Bandra, Mumbai. So, when someone searches for Bandra EPFO office on Google, this number is displayed on the screen 09102195592. When someone calls on this number for enquiry, the individual is asked them to share the EPF account details.
The EPFO head office has clearly said in a statement that this number doesn’t belong to them and the holder of this number is fraud and they have advised not to share their EPF account details on mobile to anyone. The department of EPF has also registered a case against him. Further, to nip the evil in the bud, the EPF department has advised to search contact details on their official website only.
In the end, we would like to conclude that the Indian Government needs to formulate a stringent law and punish the fraudsters and to improve the business scenario.
