Is the Visit of Theresa May A Good For India?

British Prime Minister Theresa May has chosen India  for focusing on established deeper trade ties with India, as Britain has planned to  exit from the European Union.  She has come to India for her first overseas trip. She has planned to drop by the tech-hub of Bangalore with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to start the long discussions about the U.K. to have a free-trade deal with India.

How Deep is the Relation Between India and U.K. ?

Mr. Narendra Modi came to office in 2014. Since that time, India and the U.K. have sought to reboot their relationship with one another. Last year also, both the countries had taken a pledge for the intensification of collaboration in the various range of sectors. These sectors include defense, health as well as energy. But the recently happened Britain’s visa regime for Indians has been a major sticking point in the relationship of both the countries. India has also blamed the system that has resulted in a sharp drop in terms of the number of Indians studying in Britain in the last few years. This has resulted in a certain tight relationship between both the countries, but various other steps are being taken, in order to make the things intact as it was before.

Speculated Hopes Carried By Mrs. May

The U.K. still can’t finalize any details if it is still a member of the European Union. The British officials are looking for all the initial possibilities that can give them a free trade deal. In other words, the U.K. is also looking to break down all the present existing barriers in order to try and gain improved access to India for U.K. legal services. The speculated hopes that Mrs. May has during this trip would be to look at different ways to establish more dialogue between the two countries and also explore about the outcome of that relationship so that the U.K. can be made ready to develop the free trade relationship as quickly they leave the European Union.

The main purpose of the U.K. now is that it is seeking to go beyond all its traditional trading partners in Europe as it prepares to leave the EU. Britain aims to be the most passionate advocate of the free trade throughout the corner of the world. So, it is making every possible efforts to do so.
