Taking the concept of digitization a few inches upward, it seems now the brick and mortar way of tax payment is going to be changed. Have a look at this news.
“Income Tax department to launch mobile app Mytax to make life easy for taxpayers”
What does that signify?
The Central Board of Direct Taxes has finally decided to go paperless when it comes to serving income tax returns and paying the taxes by the common man. The launch of MyTax App at least suggests the same. The app will provide information about the payments, tax deduction, communication to the department, grievance redressal, etc. This app aims to facilitate seamless communication from the tax payer to the government and it will keep you abreast of the latest changes that are going to happen in this department.
This awareness app is still on the developmental stage and is going to be linked with individual’s permanent account number which will be further linked with Aadhar number
When is the app going to be launched?
The scheduled date for app launch has not been provided yet by the government, but it is believed this unique app will surely bring metamorphic change in the tax payment.
What are the benefits that a common man can expect?
It will drastically cut down the unnecessary interactions with the income tax authorities and it will be permitted under certain circumstances only. Moreover, it is believed that e-tax proceedings will usher the era of transparency, facilitate ease of assessment and interaction with the tax payers. However, if the need arises the tax payers can request for the personal hearing to explain the matter in detail.
Why will people welcome this app with open arms?
Most of the people find it difficult to file taxes because they are unaware of the process, and a tax credit that they can ask for. The result is they rush towards the accountants to do the work for the hefty amount of fees thinking that tax compilation has eaten most of their hard-earned income, which is so not true. With the advent of this app, it is believed that such tax mishaps won’t occur. Now, isn’t that a blessing in disguise?
Will this move be resisted?
Well, this digitization move is surely going to create a resistance among the Gen- X tax payers but it is believed that slowly and steadily they will catch the pace.
Conclusion
This step is another push towards the drive to promote digital economy and slowly and steadily even the unorganized sector will understand the benefits. The launch of this app will lead to improved efficiency, reduced corruption and increased outreach.
