Tata Motors gained popularity with its Aam Aadmi Car, Tata Nano. The awesome features and cost- effective price made it win several accolades, and now it seems Tata has again tightened its seatbelts to put its competitor at a bay with the launch of Tata Nexon.
The car is priced at 5.85 lakhs and is available in both diesel and petrol version. Apart from 1.2l turbocharged petrol and 1.5l turbocharged diesel, the car encompasses several other features. Here we have enlisted some of them. Have a look at them!
Tata Nexon Features
The base variant of Tata Nexon comes equipped with the standard features like fog lamps, LED tail lamps, side plastic cladding, premium interior upholstery, utility storage spaces which include umbrella holder, bottle holder, a large glove box for keeping wallets, cups and other things, dual airbags for safety.
Though it comes packed with the horde of features, but it lacks the car entertainment option. In a yet another superior variant XM, the car has all the missed features like antenna, dual tone wheel cover, car entertainment option, speakers, USB and iPod connectivity. On the safety part, the only bonus is park assist with sensors. Depending upon the budget, there are two more models with the features like automatic climate control, electric foldable ERVM, touchscreen for car entertainment, voice command for climate control, and a lot more.
The Reason Why The Car is Aggressively Priced
Well, with the launch of Tata Nexon, the company plans to enter into the highly competitive SUV market which has once been dominated by Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and Mahindra TUV 300.
Now let’s compare it with its rivals
Safety- The maker of the cheapest car has taken into account the safety features (co-passenger airbags, ABS, EBD) very pertinently which is missing among the other cars like Vitara Brezza.
Convenience and Comfort- Convenience and comfort have always been part of Tata’s signature cars and Nexon is one among them. It comes equipped with chrome door handles, LED tail lamp, outside rear view mirror, etc, but Maruti Suzuki Breeza and Honda WR-V miss on this segment.
Price-the base variant- the base variant of Tata Nexon XE costs ₹6.85 lakhs which is around 39,000 cheaper than the base model of Maruti Suzuki Vitara and Mahindra TUV300 costs around ₹7.68 lakhs, which is far more expensive than Nexon.
The mid variant– Nexon continues to be cheap in this category too. The XM is priced at ₹7.34 lakh, which is around ₹43,000 cheaper than Breeza Vdi. It’s a bit higher model costs at 8.15 lakh which is more expensive that Breeza, but still cheaper than Mahindra TUV 300, which has a sticker price of ₹8.60.
Top variant– when it comes to a top-notch variant, the competition seems to end. Tata Nexon is at par with is rivals.
Will This Car Able To Make A Mark?
While the launch of Tigor and Hexa didn’t set cash register ringing for the Tata Motors, but it seems that this car will definitely rule the roost! Call it as a price differentiation, its pronounced features or its availability in both petrol and diesel variant, Nexon definitely has an advantage.
